1. Fandom
When it comes to fandom, I'll write and read fics and look at fanart...but that's really it. I don't RP, I've more or less stopped going to message boards specifically for one fandom, and I don't join many LJ comms anymore either. I usually only talk fandom with my friends. Why? Cause fandom tends to piss me off. You know that one Reborn comm got so full of wank I had to leave it? There was so much bashing I stopped going to Ushi no Tane's message boards unless I had a question. I barely ever go outside my face off at SPPf. Since I don't want fan-dumb to ruin my love for a series, I've just been staying away.

2. Yuri
When it comes to breaking down the amount of ships I like, yaoi is usually leaps and bounds ahead, while yuri and het are pretty even. I tend to get really into the yuri ones in comparison to the het though. I guess the foreign is more intriguing than the common (in this case, het is the status-quo and I'm a lesbian, so...)? I do so love yuri/femslash/shoujo ai. And unlike yaoi, you don't see that pesky strict seme/uke stereotype going on nearly as often. Yuri tends to be more neglected in the series I'm into because of the lack of females, but that hasn't stopped me before. Viva la girl's love!

3. Harvest Moon!
My first HM game was More Friends of Mineral Town. And in those four years, it's become on of my top video game series. I still remember the very first game I played...I'd been reading fics before I started playing and really liked JackxCliff, so I named Claire "Jack" and married Cliff. X3 Ah, good times there. Now I own or have at least played almost all of the HM games, and I seem to go after the most girly guys I can get. Mineral Town was my fave cast for a long time, but now it's second to ToT/AP. One of these days I'll do a character/ship comparison list...

4. Digimon
I got into Digimon the year it debuted in America. I didn't like it at first, but I quickly came to love it since I already loved Pokemon. I'm...not into it anymore really. I have fond memories, but I've moved on. The only thing I still cling to is my username. I've had it for such a long time I can't imagine it being anything else, even if it is a horribly noob-ish sounding name. FYI, Wizardmon was my fave since the day I saw him. X3

5. Anime
The very fisrt anime I remember seeing was Unico and the Fantasic Island when I was four. The first anime I saw and knew was an anime was Pokemon (saw the very first American airing of it--the St Anne epi). It kinda spiraled from there. I'm not really crazy for too many series these days...Pokemon, Mermaid Melody, Sailormoon, Kuroshitsuji stand out...I read much more manga though. As for dubbed vs subbed...it depends on how lazy I feel. For example, while Sailormoon is far superior in the original form, I've watched my SuperS boxset in English before cause I didn't feel like reading subtitles. On that note, I'm glad dubs aren't changing genders as often as they were in the early days.

I'm exhausted... I went up to Austin over the weekend and had lots of fun, but then I got home in the late hours of the night and when I got up this morning was told, "Oh, you're working all day today." I'm so angry... No one even bothered to call me, you know, the day before or something and say that I might want to head in early so I could get some sleep or something. And my DAD is my boss, so he really should have THOUGHT about that one. **grr**

Austin was loads of fun, though. Floating down a river, wading through the shallows, running around town, having my second ever bubble tea... Great times were had. At the end of it all, I got to eat food from the Ha'Ri household, which is always a treat. Student housing is SO CUTE. I want a cute little student apartment. I was also able to find some cute polyhedral dice and a little leather dicebag that ties onto my belt loop. And Half-Price had an RPG book I'd been looking for! So happy!

**sigh** Since no one bothered to let me know I was working until this morning, I didn't have a chance to make lunch or even eat breakfast. I'm going to take a desk-nap now.

Finally. It seems Yen Press picked up the manga of Kuroshitsuji, which will obviously be released as Black Butler. They release Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, which I think they're doing fine with, so I'm happy.

Ah, and Pokemon... I really haven't been much into it lately, but I did see the dub epi with Urara/Ursula, which was good, and I caught up on the epi with Saturn I missed during Portcon.  *purrs at his sexy voice*  ILU baby.

Speaking of Pokemon...with HGSS coming out, I dunno if I'll finish my LP of Gold. Some of my plans kinda fell through anyway. I do wanna do an entire LP, but I'm not sure what. Every Gameboy/GBC/GBA or NES game would be possible, as I know I can take screenshots. ZSNES allows screenshots, but they save as bmps so I'd have to convert them all, and while a pain, SNES is a possibilty too. Any ideas? While there are some I'd like to do, they aren't really fit for a screenshot LP, so I dunno.

I'm finally getting the last Star Ocean 3 figures I need for a full set.  I have Fayt and Nel coming to me at last~ I still don't know why they never made an Albel figure, considering his popularity, and the same goes for Maria, but...  At least there's Roger and Peppita.  =D

My self-imposed video game ban ends tomorrow, so it'll be back to IoH for me.  I'm gonna marry Vaughn asap~  Then I'll likely go back to ToT and finish out the winter so Chantel will grow up.  Nooooooo idea what I'll play after that.  Maybe back to Guilty Gear...the only story mode I cleared before restarting ToT was Venom after all.

IoH progress: Vaughn at a yellow heart, all events seen, will marry as soon as his heart turns red. Oh many, now I want Sunshine Island so badly! ...Though I don't know who'll I'll marry. Will is new and shiny, so he's a potential winner, butbutbut Vaughn and Shea! And that's not even counting the girls... *le sigh* I think AP and DS Cute are the only HM games I've know 100% who I'll marry. I'm taking a short break from games for now though...as my hand feels like it might break off.

ALSO HOLY CRAP whyamIonlyhearingaboutthisnow?  Color Changing Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love. A sequel to Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. I...I need this game. Please, for the love of god, let an English speaking country get this. I'll more than happily import it from Europe like Rupeeland if I need to. Hell, I'll import it from Japan if absolutely necessary, like I did with Tingle's Balloon Fight. Come on, that title is epic. Balloon Trip of Love? Masterpiece. Oh, and if they ever release Dekisugi Tingle Pack for the DSiWare over here, I'll run out and get a DSi. No joke. And it looks like, while the first game revolves around money, this one is around...girls. Oh Tingle, you card.

...Now put Vaati in another game dammit.

I haven't posted anything this summer! I haven't been particularly busy, so I have no excuses other than laziness. Which is my excuse all too frequently.

I'm working this summer in a research lab at the university hospital here, counting cells from brain tissue samples. The most exciting part of all of this is the name of the cell type, oligodendrocyte. It sounds impressive when I tell people "I measure the volume and density of oligodendrocytes from pre-frontal cortex samples" but what I really do is sit in front of a computer all day and look alternately through a microscope and on a screen, and click. I can do about three slides a day... it's rather monotonous.
I'm enjoying the program as a whole, though. I get to see what other people in my program are doing, and what it's like to work in a lab. Only thing is I work faster than the slides can be prepared, so a lot of my time is sitting and trying to look productive...
I have a 15 minute presentation I have to give in a little under two weeks. Yuck.

JAPAN.
TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY.
I'm going to JAPAN. 日本。I can't describe how excited I am, and how petrified at the same time. I've never been out of the country, and definitely never anywhere where I can't speak the language. I only hope I know enough to get around... I've never grown up using trains/buses/subways, which is how you travel in Japan. Hopefully people will take pity on the poor confused 外人... and I've never stayed in hostels before. So many things to worry about.
We'll be busy during the day going to different museums, observing them and interviewing museum curators (日本語で、homg scary). But we're taking shifts at the museums, and we'll have the nights free. I want to do so many things, I think my best solution would be not to sleep...

If anyone has any suggestions about where you HAVE to go in Japan, let me know! We're going to Tokyo, Hiroshima, Osaka, and Kyoto. I'm staying a few extra days in Tokyo (oh how I wish it was Kyoto-- I want to go there so bad) so please tell me what to do!!

To practice my Japanese, I've been playing Final Fantasy IV on the Super Famicom. I barely understand a thing, but it's really fun! Although, it took be an hour and a half to get through an equivalent of probably 15 minutes of gameplay... and I ended up with a headache. Especially that time the text started scrolling by really quickly... But it was worth it!
I've also been playing the Sailor Moon fighting game, but that requires no language knowledge. And the Star Wars game is completely in English, except for the label. Weird.

Ooooh my gosh. Finally, epis 29 and 31 of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure have been subbed and put on YouTube (among others). 31 is the epi that has Lady Bat in that magician's outfit and makes my icon come into play. 29 has him and the other Quirky Mini Boss Squad members in it too, so yeah, they're among my fave epis. Now I know what they're saying~

I started a new IoH file, cause my last one was...eh.  I dunno, I just thought it would be best to get a clean start.  So I picked Chelsea...and named her Mark.  =D  That way when Vaughn is my husband I can use the gender swap code and make her Mark for real.  Hohoho!  I do love me some smexy VaughnxMark.  It's second only to SheaxPierre.  I do wonder what will happen to the real Mark...will he change into Chelsea? Will there be two Marks running around? What if, as Chelsea, you married Mark and turned into Mark?  If the other character doesn't change genders, that'd be trippy.  X3

Dunno if I'll finish my first file where I was wooing Shea or if It'll eventually get saved over so I can have Chelsea (via gender swap!) marry the Witch Princess.  I like Shea and Vaughn about equally, so I really don't wanna give up either, but...  Witch Princess!  ILU baby.  *loves her very negelcted IoH/SI cast*  Third fave after ToT/AP and Mineral Town~

I haven't been on here in forever... Really, it's getting difficult for me to talk about what's going on in my life because there's so little to talk about and so much of it is stuff I haven't figured out yet, in retrospect. What I can tell you is that I've fallen in love with a Korean MMO and we're planning a romantic getaway to Elysea this fall. We're already thinking of what to name our first toon. Hopefully it'll be a much smoother relationship than my on-again off-again affair with WoW. This one's much easier on the eyes, and so DEEP! Compelling story and innovative PvPvE are already promising traits, but this game has absolutely swept me off my feet. Literally. It's given me wings.

So yeah, NCSoft's newest title Aion: the Tower of Eternity is hot. I've been playing the beta for a few weeks now (it's a weekend beta thing, running every other weekend) and I love it. The game's big draw, aside from awesome graphics, good story, and battle system, is that you can FLY. This isn't like WoW where you have to save up huge amounts of capitol for a flying mount. Your toon gets wings at level 10 and you can fly around all on your own. It's a little limited, as you can only fly for so long until your wings disappear, and there are areas where you can't fly at all, but it's still cool as hell.

I'm thinking of playing the Chinese version until the US version hits retail stores. It's like, $2 for 20 hours of game time. Anyone interested should hit me up with questions!

Well...damn. I knew my silkworm Dizzy was going to die. I bought her in my first year in summer and it's now my third year in spring. That's longer than the typical lifespan, so I knew it was gonna come any day. Did it help? Nope. Once I saw Angela sobbing over that gravestone, I almost lost it too. In happier ToT news, I had my baby and named her Chantel. *has reserved her other two fave names, Annika and Arietta, for Gale's kids* I have 23 villagers to 10 hearts. I'm working on getting the last two items I need for the journey rucksack stored up, though I doubt I'll go through with it.

I finally bred the last egg I need at Dragon Cave to complete my set of currently available ones. I'm only making a note of this cause I've been trying since April. Better late then never I suppose.

I almost wish my life was exciting enough to be able to post about more than my current fandom of choice, but... *shrugs* Since I have no social life to speak of, this'll do. ;P *is actually okay with have no social life*

Happy Fourth of July all you Americans who care. For those who aren't/don't... Happy fourth of July with no particular significance. I celebrated by eating chocolate cake and peanuts and playing Harvest Moon ToT. Go American spirit?

In ToT (like anyone cares but oh well) , Angela got knocked up thanks to the gayest straight man in all of HM. In the prayer scene I picked to have a girl. I have Heath up to eight hearts, and 17 villagers are maxed out in affection. I sold my horse cause I unlocked the mini game and it was only wasting my time when I fed it since I don't ride it and could always use my ostrich if I wanted to. I hate getting lumber in this game. It's so slow! Annnnd my white weasel Zappa made me laugh cause he ran into my telephone for half a minute straight.

I've written down every line of dialogue that Heath has said. I like to do that with video game characters I'd have a hard time looking up dialogue for later. Yes, fanfiction purposes, as I'm getting to be a stickler for believable dialogue (as my SO3 fanfiction shows best). Heath's is easy to emulate, but fun~  Anyway, the fact that he thinks everything under the sun is amazing is so adorable! And exploitable. I'm sure he'd be intrigued by a wizard...

Well, here comes the lightning again. I'm off~

O.M.G. Today I started back up with ToT and finally played a file long enough for Heath to grow up. He...he is so adorable. ;.; Funny how the canon couple (and both characters in it) I'm most apathetic about created the rival kid that's my favorite. He's so gosh darn cute! And wow, how over excitable. XD I luff him. I got him up to 3 hearts today, and he says "I wish I could just study later, when I grow up. Can't I do that?" To which I say "Oh sweetie, you can do whatever you want!" Haha, yeah I talk to characters in games. ;P

So in other news...I finally found my perfect match for Gale! And if you know who I'm talking about, yes, I totally went there. Shut up, it's awesome, okay? >.>

Mmm, in real life I got a star chart. I dunno when I'll be able to use it though, since most of the summer has been rainy or cloudy and I can never see any stars. Doesn't look like it's gonna change anytime soon either. =/ I don't even know how many places will be able to have fireworks tomorrow. *shrugs; didn't see them last year either* Oh, there's the thunder outside...better get going.
